Eclectic Collection Number 29 – 1992 Score P and G Mark McGwire


The Player

In a few short years, Mark McGwire went from injury ridden could have been to the biggest thing in baseball to a pariah of American culture. Strictly as a player, McGwire was all about power, from his 49 home runs in his rookie year to his 583 home runs for his career. He was also a 12 time all star for the Oakland Athletics and St Louis Cardinals. His 1998 season, in which he hit 70 home runs, will be discussed as long as baseball is watched and discussed.

The Set

This card is from the 1992 Score Proctor and Gamble set. Two proof of purchases and 1.49 was all it took for a collector to get the complete 18 card set. The cards from the two leagues are slightly different in color and design,

The Back

The back is very standard for the time, with stats, a profile photo and a blurb about the player.Image
