Eclectic Collection Number 44 – 1990 US Playing Cards All-Stars Roberto Alomar


The Player

Roberto Alomar was from a baseball family. His father and brother both had lengthy MLB careers.  Roberto was the biggest star of them all, and one of the greatest to play second base. From 1988 – 2004, he was a twelve time all star, and a two time World Series champion. He was a great hitter as shown by his career .300 batting average and 2724 hits along with his four silver slugger awards. His calling card was his amazing defense as shown by his ten gold gloves. He was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 2011.

The Set

The 1990 US Playing Cards All-Stars is a set of playing cards featuring MLB’s biggest stars. It featured the team logo and the name and position of the featured player as well as the number and suit of the card.

The Back

The back showed the logo of the set against a pinstripe and blue border background.
