Frankenset Part 40

Image

This is part 40 of Frankenset, a 1954 Topps Morrie Martin. Morrie’s baseball stats are farily common (38 wins, 245 strikeouts). What isn’t common in the baseball world is his military service. He was an Army combat engineer who fought in WW2. He fought at Normandy Beach, the Battle of the Bulge, and Remagen Bridge. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, four battle stars, and an Oak Leaf Cluster. Morrie Martin showed bravery that I don’t know if I could muster. May we always remember those who fought for our freedom.
